Webinar Speakers

Darragh Worland (Vice President for Digital Media @The News Literacy Project) and she is the News Literacy Project’s vice president of creative services.

She joined NLP in 2011 as the New York program coordinator and was soon promoted to program manager. In that position, she rapidly expanded the New York program.

A journalist and multimedia educator and consultant, Darragh has worked for several major news organizations, including six years as a writer, web producer and field producer at NY1 News, when it was a Time Warner-owned cable outlet that covers New York City. She then covered the financial crisis as a senior producer at MSN Money, shooting and producing video features for the web.

From 2007 to 2011, Darragh was an adjunct assistant professor at New York University’s Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute, where she helped launch the Local East Village blog in partnership with The New York Times. In 2010, ABC News retained her to train its staff in digital video production as part of the organization’s move toward a “digital journalist” model.

I have been working as a researcher in the field of Social Media and as an OSINT specialist since 2009. My intention is to assist the Foundation into growing in a sustainable way towards its end goal. I align myself with the values of the organisation and I am inspired by its noble cause.

By supporting small-scale business projects of female entrepreneurs, opportunities such as integration into existing economic development structures and strategies against poverty are made possible. One of my aspirations is to reach out a bigger audience for Coachability Foundation’s  work and projects.

By communicating efficiently the profiles of women entrepreneurs and their vision through new and traditional media outlets, the mentality in every level of hierarchy and background amongst all economically active stakeholders and researchers in Europe can change.

The News Literacy Project is a national education nonprofit offering nonpartisan, independent programs that teach students how to know what to trust in the digital age.
