Talk about us. Melinda Gates

Melinda Gates

Talk about us. Melinda Gates .Melinda Ann French did not know, when she started her career in the Microsoft technology company, that she would lead a team of more than 300 people and be the co-founder, along with her CEO and current partner, of one of the most important private philanthropic foundations of the world, "The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation" established in 2000.

According to Groucho Marx, surely intended sarcastically, "Behind every successful man is a woman…" Melinda is an example of this type of empowered woman. She has never been spoken about as much as her well-known husband, Bill Gates, one of the most powerful and wealthy men of the 21st century. She is the current co-director of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, with goals ranging from education reform to delivering modern contraceptives to more than 120 million women worldwide by 2020.

Melinda does not hesitate to take her three children to work and even to mix business trips with family holidays. Each minute spent with them is invaluable and she fights daily to combine work and family, and have quality time in both areas. As well as ensuring that her husband Bill is also committed to his duties as a father and does not disappoint their children whenever he should be there giving his support.

Nominated as the 3rd most powerful woman in the world by Forbes magazine, Melinda spends her day making decisions such as fighting to eradicate polio or promote educational reform. She makes humanitarian decisions that help change the world and improve the quality of many people’s lives from low-income populations. She has traveled to the poorest and most remote places on the planet. All this combined with her work in Microsoft, as General Director of Products, until recently when she has retired to dedicate more time to her family. She is also dedicated to the foundation from which she has obtained numerous prizes, such as:

- Person of the Year by Time magazine along with Bill Gates and Bono from U2, in 2005.- Prince of Asturias Award for International Cooperation in 2006.- Medal of the Mexican Order of the Aztec Eagle in 2006. The maximum distinction given by the Mexican Government to people born outside of Mexico.- Honorary Doctorate in Medicine from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden in 2007- Public Welfare Medal by the National Academy of Sciences of the United States in 2013.- Honored as Lady Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2013. - Presidential Medal of Freedom delivered in 2016 by President Barack Obama for his philanthropic efforts. We should feel proud of women like Melinda, who do not accept rearguard positions but vanguard positions,

"A woman with a voice is by definition a strong woman. But the search to find that voice can be remarkably difficult. "
